On April 24, 2026, the FINCA Azerbaijan team enthusiastically and actively participated in a tree-planting event held in the Mushfiqabad settlement, reaffirming the organization’s deep commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable development.

The event was organized under the framework of a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and financial sector associations. This collaborative initiative stands as a shining example of public and private sectors joining forces to share responsibility for the environment. The Mushfiqabad area was selected as one of the priority zones for the greening program due to its ecological significance.

The initiative is being carried out as a continuation of a large-scale environmental project dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev. This meaningful endeavor serves as a tribute to the great leader’s love for his homeland and his people — leaving a green legacy for future generations to cherish and build upon.

The primary goal of the project is to plant 100,000 trees annually over the course of 10 years, ultimately contributing to the planting of 1 million trees across the country. This effort forms an integral part of Azerbaijan’s broader strategy to combat climate change and achieve sustainable development goals, while also making a meaningful contribution to the preservation of biodiversity.
