Position: Learning & Development (L&D) Specialist

 Role Purpose:

Reporting to HRM, the Learning & Development (L&D) Specialist is responsible for ensuring that “FINCA Azerbaijan” effectively develops its employees to serve the needs of the organization through L&D programs and individual development opportunities. S/he develops an annual L&D plan for the subsidiary, and manages training processes and activities at all stages, ensuring constantly an assessment and analysis of current L&D needs in line with organizational strategic goals and the mission. The incumbent manages the design and development of L&D programs, including delivery according to adult learning standards to achieve a high engagement of learner audiences, and the implementation and evaluation of training impact at different levels (Kirkpatrick) to share insights with all stakeholders in the organization.

The L&D Specialist manages the FINCA Learning Zone for “FINCA Azerbaijan” including the curation and maintenance of digital courses.

The L&D Specialist will drive efforts to streamline all processes and systems related to the delivery of adequate learning solutions and opportunities to staff to support business performance and improve and sustain a high level of individual employee job performance.

QUALIFICATIONS, (Experience, Knowledge, and Skills)

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 3+ years of experience in Human Resource Development, Instructional Design, Corporate Training, Higher Education or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in corporate learning and development
  • Proven experience working with remote workforce or international organization and collaboration with virtual teams.
  • Banking and microfinance knowledge and experience preferred
  • Experience establishing systems for efficient work processes
  • Skilled in facilitating cooperation among a variety of stakeholders
  • Knowledge of instructional design methodology, measurement of training impact, performance needs assessment, adult learning principles and methodology, and digital learning design and development
  • Knowledge of LMS (Moodle System) and L&D technologies, including digital learning authoring tools (Camtasia, Articulate 360, Articulate Rise, etc.) and virtual class platforms
  • Knowledge of L&D efficiency and reporting standards and analytical capacity to review L&D data and use it to recommend measures for improvement
  • Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
  • Ability to perform under tight deadline pressure
  • Ability to work independently
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365Basic project management knowledge and experience
  • Availability to travel locally and to global L&D conferences one per year.
